Cate Summer Institute generates excitement for academics and the outdoors through creative learning, out-of-the-box thinking, and inclusivity of all people, ideas, and cultures. Institute empowers students to build confidence in their own abilities and appreciate the differences of others. At the Cate Summer Institute, students are immersed in an ambitious academic experience through small classes taught by highly regarded faculty. Each year the programs is adapted based on the interest of campers. In order to maintain a high level of program quality, enrollment is extremely limited.

Students choose one primary class and one elective. Primary Classes include：Physics of Sailing; The Literary and Chemical Alchemy of Harry Potter; CSI at CSI; Dragon Boat Festival and Chinese Culture; Diplomacy; Music Songwriting and Production; Screenwriting for Young Adults; Sports Science, etc. Electives include：Computer Coding Creation: Creating Stories and Video Games; Word Play!;  Backyard Ballistics; Entrepreneurial Mindsets, etc.
