I just registered my daughter for the Kent Place summer camp again this year. She spent the whole summer there last year and loved it so much. The instructors are young, energetic and nice! This camp fits our needs perfectly. I’m a strong believer of emotional intelligence. When coming to the search of summer camp, I screened out any academic programs. I want my daughter to enjoy the summer with lots of fun activities and with other kids. I can see the difference in her – more independent, more caring and starting to develop some leadership skills…. Most importantly, she loves it!
When I took my little daughter and son back to Beijing, I had them attend the summer camp hosted by Canadian International School of Beijing. They provide rich bilingual programs for children starting at 18 months. My kids brought back fabulous art work every day and they loved the indoor gym and outdoor playground. The campers also learned mathematics and phonics. The most exciting moment was the closing assembly. Every class performed brilliantly on the stage, and all the parents were deeply touched, giving the kids the warmest applause.
My daughter and son attend different summer camps every year. They always come home full of good spirits. They sing songs they just learned, and are eager to talk about bits and pieces of what happened at camp. There is no fighting, no arguing, no “not fairs”. Those moments are the happiest time of the day. As a mom, I like to see my kids show their true selves. Through their new experiences at camp, they push themselves out of comfort zones, accept new challenges, overcome their fears and doubts. Camp is helping them grow into confident young people.
