I really, really love summer camp!

Young Writer's Introduction:
I am 张乐水，but everyone calls me Helen here. I am a 3rd grader in New Jersey, USA. I go to Dutch Neck Elementary School. I like to draw, paint, ice skate, write poetry, and do ballet, i also play the piano. 

Hello! My name is Yueshui Helen Zhang (张乐水). I’m 9 years old, and I love going to summer camp because in all the camps I have been to, I learned somethings you can’t learn anywhere, and had lots and lots of fun. Now I will tell you about a few of the best summer camps I went to... 

I attended a summer camp called “Green Screen Masters” when I was 8 years old. A Green Screen is a special effect technique which you take video with a green backdrop or background, later you can edit the video on a computer and turn the green into any background you want. This is most commonly used in the T.V. weather forecast and in fantasy movies. During the summer camp, we would learn about the different special effects in movies. I had an awesome time there learning about those. Directors of fantasy movies use techniques such as taking 2 videos, then combine them to make it look like magic for example, making it look as if something appeared, disappeared, or something like a ball bounce higher than it can. At that camp I got into a group of 3 with 2 other 6th graders, we made our own videos with special effects. During this camp we all learned a lot and had tons and tons of fun at the same time. I loved the camp and I still remember that one and only Green Screen Master summer camp to this very day. 

Another camp I have been to is called “Chemical Wizardry”. In this summer camp we learned about chemical reactions. I was 6 at that time, now I will tell you about it...

In this camp the kids attending all did fun experiments such as making goo, chemical mushrooms, and even a crystal covered Christmas tree! Any time we were going to do an experiment I always was eager to begin, see the results of an experiment, and participate. The many times I have been attending Chemical Wizardry the experiment that we did most often is the goo experiment. In this experiment we took the ingredients and simply mixed them together to get slimy gooey goo that our moms were not very happy about. During this camp we mostly had fun rather than actually learning something. This is a very popular camp because all the kids got to do something. I loved this camp so much that I attended the camp 3 times in a row! As you can see I really, really, really, really love summer camp.
